Meet your new bookkeeper!

Hey there! I'm Sarah, the founder of The Accountant's Daughter. My approach to bookkeeping has been shaped by two powerful influences: growing up as an accountant's daughter and my personal exploration of somatic integration, which opened my eyes to the deep connection between our nervous system and our relationship with money.

My Story

Numbers have always been woven into my story. I grew up watching my mom serve her accounting clients with such precision and care - it's where I first developed an appreciation for the world of finance. This foundation gave me a deep appreciation for the technical aspects of bookkeeping, while my own path led me to explore how financial services could adapt to honour each person's unique relationship with money.

This exploration led me to pursue my trauma-informed certification with Somatic Integrationist Stacey Madden at Mindful Somatic Wellness. I've completed the first of three phases of this specialized training in nervous system regulation, embodied awareness, and trauma-informed care, with phase two beginning in early 2025. This ongoing education deepens my ability to create genuinely supportive financial partnerships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Why I Do This Work

Every day, I get to support incredible folks who are making a real difference in their communities. Many of my clients are therapists and wellness practitioners who deeply understand the value of a mindful, supportive approach. But really, I welcome anyone who's looking for a gentler way to handle their business finances - if that sounds like you, we might just be a perfect fit!

My role is to provide bookkeeping services that respond to your unique needs and support your business goals, creating space for both financial clarity and personal growth.

Scope of Practice Disclaimer: While I bring a trauma-informed understanding to our work together, I am a bookkeeper, not a financial therapist. My role is to support your business's financial organization and understanding while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. If you're interested in working with a financial therapist, I would be happy to refer you.
